2009-09 dreamy weekend- senses

i love hearing about exciting new places… the latest? dining in the dark. inky black darkness. apparently you are guided through the restaurant and meal by your server, who is wearing night vision goggles to see. but you don’t have goggles, so you have to rely completely on your senses (and trust!). it’s supposed to be an incredible experience… not seeing your food at all and just tasting, smelling and experiencing it. it sounds fascinating to me so i’ve created an entire weekend around it….. i hope you’ll join me.

it’s time to get ready for my night out in the darkness. i’m wearing something soft and textured and airy and flowy because that just seems like the right sort of thing to wear to a place like this. notice my necklace? it’s all sorts of crocheted loveliness… don’t be surprised if you catch me twirling it between my fingers throughout the night {oh wait. you won’t. because you won’t be able to see me sitting across from you…}.

we’ll have several glasses of wine i imagine… if you are focusing on tastes and smells then it’s quite necessary to pair wine with each dish. don’t you think? i think. so we shall. and you know i’m a chocolate loving sort of girl. so you know there is a warm, gooey, heart-shaped, covered-in-berries, deliciously wonderful ending to this evening….

after said wine and a rich dinner i’m sure we will be quiet full and perfectly sleepy from our wonderful meal. and that is a good thing because we have another outing planned in the morning. to the spa. for a massage. a warm stone massage. {don’t you just love celebrating each of your senses?}…. let the weekend begin!!

if you’re lucky then maybe you can join in the fun… sounds like you are changing your mind about not wanting to eat food that you can’t see…
